Last Trimester

It's true. Second babies get less camera time. Even while still in the womb. Poor thing.

At any rate, I am in the 3rd trimester!! I can't believe it. Only 11 1/2 more weeks - or less hopefully - until this little girl makes her debut.

Sorry the picture is blurry. Somebody kept bumping my legs and pulling at my dress.

I'm so excited to see her and Maya together. I really hope the transition goes smoothly for us all.

I still feel fantastic. I have been able to keep running about 3 miles 3-4 times a week. I would love it if I can run all the way until the end, but only time will tell.

We have picked the colors for her room and got a pretty white crib for her. We are also thisclose to having the name picked, but probably won't know it for sure until she's born.

I am so excited to meet her!

Easter 2014

Easter this year was really nice. It was a beautiful day.

Picture overload? I think yes.

First thing in the morning I went out and "hid" the eggs (bah-bahs, as Maya calls them) in the grass. We colored them on Saturday at my parents' house.

Her Easter basket! Most items kindly provided by Nana. :)

Daddy helped Maya find the eggs. It was a challenge, I tell you what!

Then we went back inside and she discovered the fun goodies in her Easter basket.

We hosted dinner this year for the Kemptons, Cendomas, my mom, and my sister. It was a great crowd!

The Cendomas are our good friends here in Erie, and we are so sad that they'll be moving at the end of June. Their little boy, Vaughn, is just the sweetest little boy. Maya loves having him around.

Yep. I'm pregnant. Only 3 more months until we meet baby girl #2!

And then we took impromptu family pictures.

Maya has recently discovered the magical properties of dirt.

Hope you all had a great Easter!

Park

Apparently I've been busy. The pictures in this post are a month old.

We went to Fort Collins for my dad's birthday. It was a beautiful day so we went on a walk before dinner. Maya walked all the way to the park.

Then she got to go on the slide.

It was so nice to enjoy the beautiful spring weather with family! Happy birthday, Dad!

Baking Day

When Maya was tiny I always held or wore her when I cooked or baked so she could watch. I would tell her what I was doing so that she might feel as included as possible.

Now that's she older she really wants to be included. If she can tell I'm cutting, assembling, mixing, sautéing, whatever...she wants up. She hangs on my legs and cries until I pick her up. But now she's heavier and it's not as easy to to do both. Especially with my burgeoning belly.

Today I needed to make cookies for a baby shower, and I wanted so badly to not have a baby whining at me. I came up with a solution that included her but kept my arms open. I put an apron on her and put my KitchenAid on the floor. She helped me get out all the ingredients and dump them into the bowl. She got especially excited about the eggs.

She kept a safe distance when it was running, and talked the entire time. I could tell she was really enjoying taking part!

We had to wait for them to completely cool before adding the finishing touches, so we went to WalMart to pick up a gift for the shower. Maya saw some big balls and she was way too excited for me to say no.

I promise I don't get her everything she wants. :)

After we got home we finished the cookies. They taste so much better with the Maya's help!
