Lydia - 7 Months

Lydia is 7 months old!

She is starting to show her personality, and it's a pretty sweet one. She gives me the biggest hugs! She will look at me, hug me for about ten seconds, stop hugging me, look at me again, and hug me again for a long time. When she smiles she scrunches up her face and makes a really cute sound.

She is starting to try to pull herself up to stand when I'm folding laundry and she's sitting next to the basket. She got herself all the way up one time, looked very proud of herself, and then immediately fell over.

She can sit for extended periods of time now. I love that milestone because it means she can sit in the highchair to eat, can sit among toys and pick what she wants to play with, and she can see the world from a much better vantage point than the floor.

Her hair is long enough to put in little piggies or a Troll style pony. I've only done it a couple of times but she wears it well!

Her daily schedule is waking around 6:30/7, napping 9 AM - 10:30 AM, baby food lunch around noon, nap from 1 PM - 2:30 PM, baby food dinner when the family eats, and then bed time at 8 PM. She nurses 4 times a day with a night cap right before bed, and she still wakes to nurse once during the night. Still no teeth!

She is turning into a wonderful baby, and I'm so glad. I remember during the hard months as a newborn I kept thinking, "I wish it was 6 months from now!" and now it is and we are reaping the benefits of the passage of time.

September Sweets

I have two happy babies after nap times!

I made some zucchini bread. Yum!

This boy loves cars, especially big Barbie cars.

We enjoyed a little time at the park after school one day.

Maya and Brianna are in dance class again. My mom takes them for me so she provided this cute picture of them one day.

I went to Portland with Ashley and Erin to visit Lalo. While I was gone Ryan was great about sending me pictures of the goings-on at home. I loved seeing these kids' cute faces!

(Side note: these are by far my most favorite Oreos ever to grace my tongue.)

In Portland it was cloudy, rainy, and chilly every day we were there. We all loved it!!

It was a wonderful trip where the four of us ladies bonded and got to know each other better than we already did. We created some fun memories!

We tried out a new park for a birthday party!

Dallin and I took a walk/ride around our neighborhood. It was so fun to get out of the house and he is a cutie on his scooter. We stopped many times to look at grasshoppers and paint on the sidewalk.

We went to another new park called the Sugar Beet Park. We had fun, but it is geared more to older kids so I don't think we will back anytime soon.

Brianna wrote me this sweet note at church one Sunday. She wrote one to Ryan too. Love her so much!

Weekend in Colorado Springs

We had a great weekend in Colorado Springs with the Brownings! We were only there for 48 hours but we packed in the fun!

The day we got there we spent a little time at the elementary school playground before dinner. It is an awesome playground!

On Saturday Crystal and I took the kids to the mall, where they have a train that drives around the whole top level. Dallin was very excited about this. I loved how he stood with his arms folded like, "I'm pretty cool, I'm going to get to ride this train."

We had a little more time before we needed to get back home for lunch so we stopped at the play area and then the pet store.

Saturday afternoon we went to the pumpkin patch! They had so many fun activities!

On Sunday we gathered together to watch General Conference.

Then it was time to say good bye! A short but sweet trip!

Not pictured:
Ryan made us delicious crepes for lunch on Saturday and Crystal made us delicious French toast for breakfast on Sunday. I love me some good breakfast type food!
Both nights after the kids were in bed the two couples played card games. We love doing that together, and I'm glad that all four of us like the same kind of games!
My oldest two and Crystal's middle two have so much fun together, we hardly see them around except for meal times! Brielle is starting to enjoy being with the adults more than the kids, unless the kids are little and cute like Dallin and Lydia.
