June Life

Another month has gone by! I love how fast time seems to go right now, especially with the pending birth of our son.

In this photo I am 35 weeks pregnant. In just a couple of days I will be 38 weeks, and am quite ready for the end! At my 37 week appointment I was *almost* 3 cm dilated already. He feels very low in my pelvis and I have had a lot of other indications that labor is near. Trying not to get my hopes up, but getting to meet him within the next week would be great. I'm not very comfortable anymore, and at this point I honestly believe I will sleep better with him on the outside, even if I have to get up to feed him. I am anxious for my 38 week appointment on Thursday to find out if I am dilated even more! It would be crazy to have him so early, but my body is definitely pointing to signs of evicting him sooner rather than later (fingers crossed).

We are still spending a lot of time at the pool! We go almost every day during the week.

Maya drew a cute picture of her and Brianna rescuing babies at the pool.

Maya had picture day for dance class. She looks like a miniature version of her teenage self with all of that make up on.

We walked to my visiting teaching appointments. Both ladies live in our neighborhood, so it was a good excuse to get out.

Another fun new hairstyle! I like this one a lot.

A nice sunset!

Brianna got her first haircut. I think we took off 4 - 5 inches. She was very good and is enjoying her shorter hair for summer (and less tangles).

After Brianna's haircut we ran a lot of errands. The girls relaxed for a minute in a chair at Target.

Maya had her dance recital! Afterwards Papa and Nana took us all out for ice cream.

Maya got a haircut too! Just a trim to even out the ends. It definitely looks healthier.

All of our time at the pool has paid off. We have two little fishies now!

Maya's First Dance Recital

This past Saturday Maya had her first dance recital on the big stage. She did so well! Not shy or nervous at all.

She had a bit of drama (but not extreme by any means) with her dance class. She was originally supposed to perform a song with her Princess Ballet class in a sparkly pink tutu, but just two weeks before the recital the other girls in her class that were going to do the recital dropped out! I was so disappointed! Maya's teacher offered to have her perform with the Ballet/Tap class instead. Maya was fine with that, so she had 4 practices of this dance before performing it on stage. I was so impressed with her; she knew the dance so well after having only practiced it a handful of times.

Watching her dance on stage was emotional! Which surprised me! She was such a doll on stage. I could have watched her over and over again. She's the little one in the photos - most of the other girls in that class are 6+ years old.

At the end of the recital every student came out to give a final bow.

We are so proud of our little dancer!

May Happenings

May was a happenin' month for us this year!

Brianna took a little ballet class. She loved it! I wasn't sure if she would be as in the dance "scene" as Maya is, but she really took to it and enjoyed going to class.

Our close friends had baby #2 so we got to watch baby #1 for the day! It was a good insight into what having a boy might be like. Conclusion: very different from girls!!!

Maya got her dance recital costume. Only two more weeks until the performance!

Maya drew a cute picture of a boat and ship.

Grandpa Kent came to visit! We enjoyed having him here for a few days.

Learning some new hairstyles.

Maya and Brianna are great buddies. They love playing together and it makes me ever so grateful that we decided to have them so close together. It is paying off now!

Brianna got sick. :(

Maya had a "watch what I have learned" gymnastics class. She is doing great!

And then she had her last day of preschool. I can't believe how fast it went by!

I am teaching the girls how to cook so I don't have to when the baby boy is born. Not really. But it would be nice!

More fun hairstyles!

My friend Camille threw me a baby shower. It was so fun to have a girls' night!

I love my coworkers, even if work stresses me out sometimes.

Maya got sick too. She had a fever of 104 degrees for three days. She was so sweet and was in great spirits, considering she felt awful.

We went shopping for baby boy nursery supplies and Maya found this huge stuffed dog.

Our neighborhood swimming pool opened. I am taking the girls as much as possible, because once this baby comes who knows often we will make it there. So far we are averaging 3 - 4 times a week.

Maya and I had some fun doing face swap. :)
