Brianna - 2 Years Old

Last month Brianna turned 2 years old. We have so very much fun with her! To celebrate her special day, we had a small party with family with the normal dinner, presents, and cake. She loves Elsa and "Let It Go" (what is it with that song that makes every girl love it?!) so that was the main theme of her party.

The weekend before her birthday she and Maya had a sleepover at Papa and Nana's house. It is always a special time for them when they do that, and I am glad they got to do it "for" Brianna's birthday.

I made a chocolate layer cake for her birthday and let the girls help me decorate it. Brianna was quite happy with it.

And then the day of her party! After she took her nap the fun began. It was super fun to have her be so aware of what was going on. She knew without a doubt that it was a special day: her birthday!

Brianna has many new skills as a 2 year old. She is great at talking, and blew the doctor away at her 2 year check-up. She says hundreds of words and speaks in 3 - 5 word sentences regularly.

She can count to 10 and say her ABCs. She is very polite - always saying thank you, excuse me (even when she is trying to get by somebody who is in her way), sorry, and please.

She weighs 23 lbs and is 33 1/2 inches tall. She's in about the 25%.

She loves to play with dolls and is a very sweet and gentle mommy to them. Except for today. Today her favorite doll hit her in the arm and had to go to time out for a while.

She loves to eat and is still willing to try almost everything I give her.

She loves to swim! With having a pool in our neighborhood she has gotten a chance to swim fairly often and has gotten very comfortable with the water.

Brianna has a very even temper and has yet to throw a temper tantrum that lasts longer than a few minutes. She is easy to calm and accepts things as they are explained to her.

And...drum roll please...she is 100% potty trained. My friends with kids her age ask how I did it, and this is how: I didn't do a thing. Brianna was completely ready, and when I was too, we went for it. It took her 2 hours (and 2 small accidents) to stop having accidents and 2 nights to start sleeping dry. Quite a glorious thing, I tell you.

(She wasn't quite sure about the whole candle blowing out part.)

On the day of her actual birthday she was enjoying pushing around her new doll stroller and acting like a mommy. For her special treat that day I took her and Maya to the mall with her stroller. She had a blast having lots of room to push it around.

Brianna is a very bright light in our home, and I am so glad we were given her sweet spirit. I love watching her grow and continue to learn. Happy birthday my sweet Brianna, we love you!!
