Baby #3 is a....

BOY! We are so thrilled to add a little more testosterone to our family.

When the ultrasound tech showed us the revealing body part, I knew right away. I said, "That does not look like a girl." She said, "Nope, that is not a sister!" Ryan's face lit up and he was so happy. I could tell he loved getting to say "he" as we talked to the girls about the different body parts we were seeing in the ultrasound. Maya and Brianna are very happy to get a brother.

I am so happy it is a boy. I thought it was from the moment we got the first ultrasound confirming the pregnancy. He was so wiggly, I just knew it had to be a boy (yes, I stereotype boys to be more wild than girls; we will see if my opinion changes with one of my own). The more I thought about it being a boy, the more I wanted it. Ryan needs a son!

We are having fun coming up with names and have several in mind. I honestly think we will not have one picked until he is born.

I am now 22 weeks 4 days (this photo is from 21 weeks 3 days). I am feeling great! Apart from severe back pain about a month ago that lasted a week, my body is staying mostly intact and not giving me too much trouble.

Today marks 4 more months until my due date! I know it's going to be here before we know it, and I can't wait to meet our little boy.

February Happenings

February was a very fun month! In backwards order... (because that's how my pictures loaded):

We all got sick with a cold. First Ryan (mildly), then me (horrific), then Maya (not bad), and then Brianna (not bad). Brianna's cold turned into an ear infection - that was a fun night let me tell you what. She is our first kid to get an ear infection, so she got to experience the lovely pink amoxicillin! It brought back memories from my childhood seeing that bottle in the fridge!

After she finished her round of antibiotics she developed an interesting rash of hives on her torso. We don't know if it was related or not to the medicine. It showed up after she slept (both from the night and after her nap) and went away within 20-30 minutes of waking up. It only occurred on that one day. The black is from a temporary tattoo. She isn't growing mold.

The girls and I joined a friend and her daughter at the Fort Collins Discovery Museum. It's a great place for kids and we enjoyed our time there!

Maya and I experience the tornado wind tunnel together. She was acting very silly! :D

Brianna and Emma did the wind tunnel together and laughed the whole time.

One of the rooms was to play garage band instruments. Banging the drums was a pretty big hit (ha. pun not intended).

Bugs!!

I turned 32! Woohoo! It was a very fun birthday week. The girls and I went to lunch with my mom, Holly, and Garrett on my actual birthday. That evening we all went to dinner with my parents at our favorite pizza joint. Ryan got me a Roomba which is pretty much amazing!! My birthday weekend was spent having a play date for our girls with Emma all morning. That evening we went out to dinner with our good friends the Cooks, and then our friends the Techeras showed up as the Cooks were leaving. Ulises made me a cake that was gorgeous! They spent the night at our house and then the next day life got back to normal. Like I said, very fun birthday week!

I have been having fun learning new hair tricks.

We went out to breakfast at Snooze (also during my birthday week). The wait was kind of long, and we were starving, but the girls did awesome waiting for their food. It was yummy and I think we will go back again sometime.

The weather is starting to warm up and that means more time outside.

I was in charge of the Valentine's Day craft and treat for playgroup. We made heart shaped men and had Chewy Chocolate Chip cookies (with pink and red m&ms) and strawberries for the treat.

Brianna learned a new eyeball trick haha!

Maya and Brianna are starting to pose for the camera in super cute toddler and preschool ways.

It was a great month!!
