July Jests

Let's make this a quick and painless post because Maya is laying next to me popping her hips and whining at me.

Dallin put on my shoes! He's a natural at walking in heels.

Brianna is taking reading lessons. She is doing really well! She is well prepared for kindergarten. We were doing her homework one evening and Dallin decided to do his own reading. The sunglasses were of course required.

The oldest and the youngest!

One afternoon I put on my big girl pants and set up the Mega Slide for the kids to play in. It's a lot of work! I was proud of myself for not whining like a four year old.

It was the fourth of July. We took this picture after getting home from the church breakfast where we ate cinnamon rolls and egg/hashbrown casseroles. Wasn't too bad (especially because we ate the rolls that I brought), but it's never easy getting all of the kids out of the house by 9 AM. Plus they were all really hungry because we usually have breakfast around 7:30. I suppose torturing us all once a year is worth it.

That afternoon our friends Ulises, Mary, Walter, and Belen Techera came to our house! They stayed until the 6th. We loved having them, and I'm so glad that we are continuing to stay in touch even though they moved to Grand Junction.

This photo collage is the best. Dallin and Belen were born 8 days apart, and we of course had to take their pictures in their blessing clothing - they looked like a little bride and groom! During this visit Dallin gave Belen a big smooch and was quite proud of himself. Our goal is stay friends for forever so that someday these two can at least go to prom together, even if they don't get married.

We had intended to watch the fireworks in Timnath again this year but there was a wicked storm that drove us back home. The clouds were amazing!

The next evening we busted out the fire pit and made s'mores! Yum!

Action shot of my child catching Walter and pushing him to the ground. Let's hope they were only playing.

Ulises, Mary, and Belen. We love them!

The next day before they left town the kids spent a little time riding bikes in front of the house.

Haircuts!!!!

We went to the farm and saw turkeys, horses, cows, pigs, ducks, and chickens. It was Dallin's first time going and he thought it was a hoot.

The boy discovered pockets.

Lydia. She has cuteness!

A baby bunny fell into our window well. Tambryn and Konstanz, our neighbors, friends, and babysitters, rescued the poor little thing. There was a substantial amount of soap sudded on to my children's hands after this event.

Austin and Lauren Cook invited us to join them for Cheyenne Frontier Days. Ryan took the day off of work and we ditched our older kiddos and went to the rodeo! It was really fun! I took a lot of videos to show Maya and Brianna, but not a ton of pictures of the actual events. The babies were fun to look at too though.

Especially this one. ("Go faster, Daddy!")

Sadly I only did their hair fancy one time this month. ONE TIME. What a shame!

I am SO ready for August and for school to start again. Only 2 more weeks!
