Total Eclipse

On August 21st, there was an eclipse. There was a ton of hype about it because it was a total eclipse; which I heard only happens once every 100 years but then afterwards I saw that there will be another one in not that long of time. So I don't know. Anyway, it was cool! Ryan stayed home in the morning so we could experience it as a family. We were able to see it at 96% totality. When it reached that point, it was really odd how the light looked outside. It was ultra shadowy and not as bright or hot. Inside the house it was really dark, at least relative to a normal 11:46 AM brightness. It was fun to see it, and a good excuse to stand outside and chat with neighbors.

Beforehand, Maya set up the glasses so they were ready to go.

Brianna fell down during her ritual runs up and down the driveway. Don't worry, she survived.

That evening we made s'mores. Yum!

And here is a picture of a goofy and cute smiling baby. We are lovin' life!

August Stuff

It has been a fun month, getting into the swing of things with three kiddos and enjoying the last bit of summer.

The girls have enjoyed doing art projects a lot this summer.

Sometimes Dallin cries.

And sometimes he sleeps.

Sessie stayed with us when she came for Aislynn's baptism. We so enjoyed having her here!

Dallin turned one month old on August 7th.

He is starting to smile! This camera click came at just the right second.

I went for my first run after Dallin was born. Since the double stroller seats only two and we now have three, Maya ran with me. She was adorable. After about a mile and a half she was really tired. She tried hard to keep going, but her little legs were spent after 1.84 miles. She rode on the front of the stroller the last third of a mile home. Later that day (and the next) she kept commenting on how sore her legs were. I was very proud of her for giving it so much effort!

Now that Brianna is 3 she gets to go to ballet class with Maya. They have a lot of fun together.

Dallin watched the first preseason Broncos game with Daddy. I need to get him a Broncos onesie!

More art!

Dallin and his superhero protectors.

Maya is practicing her swaddling skills.

We spent some time at New West Fest. Ryan took the girls on a bike ride and ended up in Old Town. Dallin and I met them there for lunch at Big Al's and then we walked around for a while. I took all of the kids home in the car and Ryan rode his bike home in the pouring rain.

We celebrated our 7-year anniversary. Our first date since Dallin was born! We went to Fish for dinner and enjoyed delicious seafood. Then we went to Home Goods because we will always take the chance to do some fun shopping without older kids to chase around and keep telling, "Don't touch that!" Dallin was very well behaved the whole time.

There are a lot of sweet moments like this.

We got some play make up and the girls love it. They played with it all day long, and still each morning Maya puts her make up on after she gets dressed.
