The kids looked very pretty and cute for the Christmas service at church on the 23rd. (Thank you, Dallin, for holding still for a posed picture for once!)
On Christmas Eve the kids watched The Snowman together. Not pictured, but we had our traditional kaese spaetzle for dinner with our neighbors and friends, the Searles. It was a great feast!
After the kids went to bed we brought out the gifts and I made a breakfast strata to have in the morning.
On Christmas morning the girls woke up at about 7 AM and played games in their room until 7:30. I hope they carry on the tradition that Crystal and I used to have!
They went downstairs and checked out the unwrapped gifts while Ryan woke up Dallin. Little boy has been sleeping until about 8 AM these days but he was happy when he saw his new slide from Santa waiting downstairs for him.
The after math of gift opening! Always an explosion!
Everyone had fun with their new items that morning.
That evening we had my parents, Aunt Wendy, Ben, and Sarah join us for our Christmas Day feast. We had prime rib roast, egg noodles with browned butter and feta cheese, parmesan roasted green beans, Yorkshire pudding, and a salad. For dessert we had blackberry cobbler and pumpkin pie. All of the food was amazing!
I used a recipe for the roast that had the meat encrusted in salt. After it finished cooking the salt came off like a hat! The final result of the roast was positively drool worthy.
Ryan set a lovely table for us.
Merry Christmas!!
