Lydia - 11 Months

Lydia is 11 months old! She has had a very eventful past month! 

This little gal can now wave, pull to stand easily, cruise along furniture, does actions to "Wheels on the Bus", stands on her own, and loves practicing with her walker toy. 

I finally night weaned her!!!! It wasn't too bad. There were a couple of nights that were on the rough side, but Ryan was a great help those nights so that I didn't have to go in because me = food, you see. After about a week she got the idea. Most nights she still wakes up once, but now I can just go in and give her a binky and she goes back to sleep until around 6:15 AM.

Last night she took her first steps! What an exciting milestone! I imagine she will be walking regularly before her first birthday.

She adores her sisters and brother. Dallin has been sick with a cold for about five days and that has made him particularly whiny and fussy. When Lydia sees him crying she will reach out to him and give him big hugs. It's so sweet! Especially when he doesn't push her away.

Lydia naps 9/9:30 - 11 and 1:30/2 - 3:30. She is still nursing four times a day, but I'm going to start weaning her very soon. I tried to start today but she was not at all interested in having the plastic over the flesh. We will get there, but I don't want to torture either of us to make it happen.

She loves to squeal and laugh! She talks and babbles to herself. She brings so much joy and cuteness to our home. I am so excited to celebrate her first birthday next month!

January!

Ethan and Maddie got married December 28th. They came to Colorado for a reception here the first weekend of January. We hosted dinner a few times for everyone. We had fun and enjoyed getting to know Maddie!

We went to tour Dallin's preschool for next year (say what?!) and he wanted to be a big helper with the stroller on the way out.

Lydia got a yucky cold and it quite knocked her out for a few days. :( 

We did some fun hairstyles this month!

Ulises and Belen were with us for one night in mid-January. They were super jet lagged from having been in Spain for a month. We were happy to host them so they could rest before picking up Mary and Walter from the airport and heading back to Grand Junction.

We went to the zoo with Holly. Woohoo! The girls had the day off of school and the weather was beautiful. We had a lot of fun, and I was SO glad that Holly could join us. It was great to see her and her help was wonderful!

Brianna had her 100th day of kindergarten! 

We had a friend of Brianna's over for a playdate. She was very sweet, and was their first friend to come over who didn't crack jokes about poop and farts. I like her!

And then we went for a short walk to enjoy the gorgeous day. January was good to us this year!

A couple of days later she had her first ponytail! It didn't last past her first nap but it sure was cute.

Dallin had a morning of being really cute (which is nice to remember today because he has been sick for like 5 days and days are spent with him whining and crying. all. day. long.) and wanting his picture taken. He kept putting himself in fun poses and would let me know when he was ready for the camera.

A new Crumbl cookie opened here in town. I took Dallin and Lydia to their "free cookie day" and got us all a free cookie! Yay! I also bought a box of cookies to try. We liked them very much, but Ryan was sweet and told me he likes mine even better. Aww shucks.
